Business Tax Preparation in Atlanta for Small Companies
Business taxes get harder when books and paperwork are pulled together at the last minute. We prepare your company's tax returns from organized records, handle your 1099s, and calculate quarterly estimates so fewer surprises reach you.
We prepare business returns for companies, including Form 1120 and 1120-S for corporations and related forms that match how your business is set up. Your entity type decides which forms apply, so we start by confirming how the company is organized and how it has filed before. Then we work from your books and support documents so every figure traces back to a record.
We also help with 1099s, which often catch owners off guard. If you paid independent contractors during the year, you may need to report those payments, and that gets far easier when you collect each contractor's information before the first check. We review who you paid, identify what appears to need reporting, and prepare the forms from your payment records.
Quarterly estimated payments are another common source of stress. We calculate estimates from your actual results so the amounts reflect the year you are having, and you can set the money aside in advance. Proactive Strategies is a financial and business consulting firm, not a CPA firm. If you receive a notice or need formal handling of a tax dispute, an authorized representative of your choosing handles representation, while we prepare and organize your records.

In Georgia
Companies with Georgia filing obligations generally have state forms alongside their federal ones, such as Form 600 for corporations and Form 600S for S corporations, each filed with the Georgia Department of Revenue. Net worth tax can also apply. We prepare the federal and Georgia returns from the same records, so the numbers agree.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Have a question that is not answered here? Book a consultation and ask us directly.
Which tax form does my business file?
It depends on how your company is organized and any elections it has made. Corporations generally file Form 1120, S corporations Form 1120-S, and other structures use related forms. If you are unsure of your filing status, bring your formation papers and last filed return to the consultation.
Who needs to receive a 1099 from my company?
Generally, businesses report certain payments to independent contractors and other non-employees who were paid above the reporting threshold during the year, though exceptions exist. We review your payment records and contractor information, identify which forms appear to be needed, and prepare them with you.
How are quarterly estimated tax payments calculated?
We look at your income so far, expected results for the rest of the year, and your prior filing. From there we calculate an amount for each period. We can revisit the estimate if business changes during the year, which helps keep payments close to what you will actually owe.
What if my company has unfiled business returns from past years?
Bring it up in your consultation. We help you figure out which years are open, gather what records exist, and rebuild missing bookkeeping so the filings can be prepared. If the IRS has already sent notices, you may also want an authorized representative of your choosing involved early.
How should I send business tax documents to you?
Tax documents must never go through the website form or email. After your consultation we will explain how to share documents securely. We will also give you a checklist based on your entity and industry, so you are not gathering paperwork that is not needed.
